Ahansal Events is set up by Mohamad and Lahcen Ahansal with the specific aim of improving the lives of families living in the poorest regions of Morocco’s Atlas mountains and Sahara desert.
Having grown up as a poor, nomadic family and losing their father at a young age, Mohamad and Lahcen work tirelessly to raise funds for operations to improve health service provisions and educational facilities in these regions.
Trans Atlas Marathon takes place in an area considered to be one of the poorest areas of the country and the aim of the race is to not only provide an exciting event for those taking part but also to leave a legacy of improvement in the things that we (and much of Morocco) takes for granted.
